Scripting is one of the most powerful law of attraction techniques out there.
If you’re a creative person, you will love scripting. Just like a vision board, your future script will help you visualize everything you want to manifest.
If you use scripting consistently, you’ll strengthen your mind’s eye. Your manifesting muscles will become more powerful.
Hear me out. Even if you don’t believe in the law of attraction, I can explain how scripting works. I take both a practical and spiritual approach to the LOA, so even people who aren’t into spirituality can understand it.
What is scripting for manifestation?
Future scripting (or simply “scripting”) is a law of attraction exercise where you write an incredibly detailed description of your dreams, goals, and the future you want to manifest.
Think of it like writing an autobiography, except it’s about your future instead of your past. Your future script should be written like a story.
Writing has been my passion since I could form letters with a crayon. When I was little, I used to write stories all the time.
I was the kid with the wild imagination—the one who would sit in the corner and draw and read and write and not talk to the other kids. Scripting feels natural to me because it’s very similar to my story writing pastime.
But if you’re not a writer like me, don’t worry! You can still create your own compelling script that manifests into a wonderful future.
Are you ready to script your way to the life you’ve always dreamed of, or do you need more explanation?
I got you. Keep reading for my analysis on how this scripting thing actually works!
So, how does scripting work?
In short, scripting keeps you focused. In this technology-crazed world, our attention is divided in a million different directions each day.
That’s one of the reasons why people fail to accomplish their goals. They lose focus, and they start taking actions that are not aligned with their dreams and aspirations.
But if you dedicate 15 minutes to scripting each day, you’ll keep your eye on the prize. Here are five ways scripting will help you reach your most coveted goals:
1. Think of scripting as the fun version of planning.
Although scripting is a visualization exercise and it doesn’t directly involve the planning process, you can later use your script to turn your dreams into plans.
Scripting is an exciting pre-planning exercise. It’s like the tailgate in college football. It’s way more fun than the actual game (at least in my opinion), but the football game is still the main event.
Okay, maybe that’s not the best comparison, but you get the point!
2. You can use your future script as a guide to set goals that align with your visualization.
When you have a strong visualization of what your future looks like, you can backtrack and identify steps to help you get there.
For example, if you write a detailed script about your dream home, you can determine:
- How much money you need to manifest in order to purchase the home
- The specific steps you’ll need to take to buy the house
- The furniture and interior decor you’ll need to collect
You can infer things from your future script that might not be clear to you otherwise.
3. As you script your future, you’ll clarify your dreams and goals.
Lack of clarity will stall your progress.
After all, how can you achieve your goals if you don’t know exactly what you’re working toward?
Goals must be specific and measurable, or else you won’t have any benchmarks for your progress.
If you struggle with clarity in the goal-setting process, scripting will give you an ultra-clear visualization that you can use to understand what you truly want.
As you script your future, your dreams will be crystal clear. And as a result, they will seem more “real” and attainable to you.
4. It helps you focus on the love-based feelings surrounding your future, while the fear-based feelings fall out of focus.
Too often, people don’t take action because fear-based feelings are holding them back.
When I say “fear-based feelings,” I mean emotions like anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and FEAR itself.
But scripting helps you shift into a positive mindset. It allows you to create the future you’ve always dreamed of, no matter what your current life looks like.
A few years ago, I used to feel so crippled by fear. I let my insecurities get in the way of the actions I wanted to take.
When I had my first blog back in 2016, I got to a point where I didn’t feel like posting on it anymore—not because I lost passion for it, but because I let my fear of judgment get in the way.
Later on, I did some deep mindset work. I educated myself on the law of attraction, and I learned about the power of journaling and scripting.
And when I say this, I’m not exaggerating… but I have achieved more personal growth in the last year than I have in the last 5 years combined.
I’ve reached a new level of awareness about myself and the world around me. As a result, I don’t let those pesky negative feelings stop me from living life on my own terms.
Scripting and visualization keep me focused on the marvelous things life has in store for me. Instead of falling into a pit of fear and worry, I wake up each morning feeling inspired, motivated, and EXCITED about my future.
5. Instead of being stuck in a fixed mindset, you’ll shift into a growth mindset.
Last but not least, future scripting will show you the limitless potential your life has. You’ll shift into a growth mindset and truly believe that you can change your life for the better. In other words, you’ll get “unstuck.”
Your script will remind you that you can continuously grow as long as you try to show up as your best self each day. You might even realize that you’ve been stuck in a box for a long time, and you need to get out of it.
Your future script will show you that your potential to succeed is infinite… and I think we all need more of that positive energy in our lives!

Things to write about in your script
You can create a script for anything you want to manifest. Your only limit is your imagination!
But if you need ideas, here are some fun topics you could write about:
- Your dream career
- Your dream home
- The car of your dreams
- The love of your life
- Your top vacation destination
- The best day of your life
- A goal you really want to achieve
- Anything else that’s a part of your “ideal life!”
Personally, I enjoy scripting about my future career opportunities, but that’s because I’m a professionally-driven person.
You should script about the topics that bring forth positive feelings for you, whether that’s starting a business, finding love, or going on the best vacation of all time.
How to manifest your dreams by scripting
Now that you understand what scripting is and how you can benefit from it, I’m going to explain how you can do it yourself!
Follow the steps below to create a future script that manifests:
1. Create a powerful visualization about what your future will look like.
This first step just involves thinking. Take a moment to center yourself in the present.
Now, visualize the subject you’re going to write your script on. Focus intently on your visualization. If any resistance comes up, simply acknowledge it and let it go.
As you’re visualizing, try to clarify every detail as much as possible. For instance, if you’re going to write a script for your dream vacation to Italy, picture:
- How the air around you feels
- The ground beneath your feet and what it’s made of
- The number of clouds in the sky and how they’re shaped
- The sounds around you, including what people’s voices sound like
- What you’re wearing
The clearer your visualization is, the more powerful it will be. I can’t stress this enough.
Manifestation is a form of creation, just like story writing. Think of all the great novels you’ve read in your life. If you opened one of them, I bet you’d find an abundance of concrete details within the story.
The details are important because they place you right in the middle of the story so you become emotionally connected to what’s going on. Writers use concrete details to engage readers with the story.
Your future script is no different. You want to emotionally engage yourself in the writing process, and therefore you should be as specific as possible when you’re writing your script.
2. Write a detailed story about your future, but in the present tense.
After you’ve created the visualization in your head, it’s time to write it down.
Just like you’d repeat affirmations in the present tense, it’s important to write your future script as if you’re experiencing it right now.
You want to attract your visualization closer to your present reality. In order to do that, you must speak about the things you want to manifest as if they’re already yours… because they are!
3. Make sure your script is grounded in reality to an extent.
I’m not saying you should limit your dreams. Life has limitless possibilities.
However, your script needs to be realistic because it will only work if you believe that it’s going to come true for you.
If you’re writing about unicorns or fire-breathing dragons… I mean, I’m not saying you could never manifest those things. (And with the way things have been going in the world, nothing really surprises me anymore.)
My point is that you have to believe that your future script is completely possible for you to achieve. And ideally, you should have 100 percent faith in the universe that it will bring you all the things you write about in your future script.
Remember, the law of attraction will bring you exactly what you write in your script, or it will bring you something even better. You just have to trust it!
4. Focus on why you want the things you’re writing about.
Emotions are powerful manifesting forces. While you’re writing, hone in on the positive emotions that arise from the script.
Focusing on those strong feelings will help you embody your future self on an energetic level, which will attract that version of you closer to your current reality.
5. Express gratitude for the things in your script.
If you’re writing your script in the present tense (which you should be), you’re writing it as if you already have the things you want to manifest.
That means that you should thank the universe for bringing you all the manifestations you’re writing about in the future script. Gratitude is a high-frequency emotion that will supercharge your manifesting efforts.
So, write a statement of gratitude at the beginning or end of your future script! Something like, “I am thankful for… because…” or “I am grateful for… because…”
The positive energy within the feeling of gratitude will make your script more powerful.
6. Give yourself the time and energetic space to write your script.
Don’t rush yourself. If you can, make scripting a daily habit.
Plan your schedule so you have 20 to 30 minutes for your scripting practice each day. If you don’t want to do that, start with 5 to 10 minutes daily.
There’s no hard and fast rule for how much time you should dedicate to future scripting. I’m sorry if you’re sick of me talking about “manifesting muscles” (LOL) but scripting is just another exercise that helps you strengthen your ability to manifest your desires.
Scripting is exactly like lifting weights. You should do it often if you want to get stronger, but the resting periods in between exercises are equally as important.
More is not always better. (For example, I wouldn’t recommend scripting for 8 hours per day.) Frequency and consistency are the factors that make the biggest impact in the long run.
While you’re scripting, make sure you’re grounded in the present moment. Don’t let ruminating thoughts or feelings of worry overwhelm you. Hone in on the scripting practice and try not to let distractions get in the way.
When you allow yourself to have the time and space to write your script, you can focus on making it the dynamic and energetically charged body of work it’s meant to be.
Script daily for days, weeks, months, and years. Lots of manifestations will appear in your reality. One day, you’ll look back on the scripts you wrote, and you’ll be shocked at all the things that came true… down to very specific details.
Trust in the universe because it has big plans for you!
