15 Productivity Affirmations to Help You Focus

If you feel tired and unmotivated, try using these productivity affirmations to tighten your focus.

I’m attempting to be more intentional with my time these days. I try to be productive when I need to be, but sometimes I lack motivation.

I’ve been working from home full-time in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. To actually get things done, I had to become more disciplined.

One of the most important things I’ve learned from working remotely is the importance of maintaining a productive mindset. That means clearing mental clutter, eliminating distractions, and taking control of your thinking patterns.

What are affirmations?

Affirmations are statements you can use to challenge thoughts. Even though they are short and concise, they can have a major impact on your mindset.

Usually, they are used to get rid of negative thoughts. For example, if you suffer from feelings of worthlessness, you could use affirmations like:

  • I am intelligent.
  • I am talented.
  • I am worthy.

Some people will say that affirmations are pointless. However, based on my experience with them, I believe they really work.

Affirmations are supposed to rewire your brain to end negative self-talk and encourage a positive, uplifting narrative. Once you stop self-sabotaging, you’ll be able to focus on your goals, and you’ll be more likely to succeed as a result.

Affirmations are motivating. They make you feel better about yourself. And if you choose the right affirmations for your particular situation, they will remind you of the things that are most important to you.

In the self-help industry, many people claim that affirmations are magical and they will help you get anything you want in life. This is true, but only to an extent.

Changing your life is not as simple as repeating a statement over and over. If you want to see improvement in any area of your life, you need two things: a positive mindset and the drive to take action.

The truth is that nothing will improve unless you take the necessary actions to make the change.

That being said, affirmations can help you with the positive mindset part of the equation. And just like you can use affirmations to improve your self-esteem, you can use them to boost your productivity.

How productivity affirmations work

I know what it’s like to sit at a desk at work, gazing off into the distance, with my mind wandering around some faraway location in my daydream.

I could sit there for 10 minutes, an hour, or even three hours wasting time. Before I know it, my day is gone, and I’ve only checked one item off my to-do list.

As a marketing professional, blogger, and aspiring businesswoman, that type of work ethic just doesn’t cut it. My goals are too big to waste time daydreaming.

Since I’ve had positive experiences with affirmations in the past, I decided to see if I could use them to improve my productivity. (Spoiler alert: I’m pleased with the results!)

Productivity affirmations work just like regular affirmations, but they are specifically written to tighten your focus, motivation, and overall productivity.

You can use productivity affirmations in several ways:
  • Type them into a Word doc
  • Write them down in your notebook
  • Type them out on your phone notes, take a screenshot, and make it your wallpaper
  • Create a desktop wallpaper with your productivity affirmations
  • Download my free printable below and hang it on your wall!

To make any affirmation work, the key is to repeat it to yourself on a regular basis. That could mean one, three, or ten times a day.

As long as you keep your affirmations in a visible or easily accessible location, you’ll be more likely to refer back to them when you need a productivity boost.
