30 things to do before 30

30 Things to Do Before 30 Checklist + Printable Template for All Ages!

As a 23-year-old, I’m always looking at the bigger picture. I decided to create this “30 things to do before 30” checklist to outline some of my life goals for the next seven years.

I want to make the most out of my life. I think everyone does, right?

Although I’m still in my early to mid-20s, I have huge plans for the life ahead of me. I decided to create a “30 things to do before 30” checklist just for fun.

Honestly, I felt a sense of accomplishment when I created my list. Coming up with ideas was more difficult than I thought it would be. I realized that, even though I’m only 23, I already have many accomplishments.

The most important thing that I learned from creating my “30 before 30” bucket list is that I need to be more grateful for the experiences I’ve already had in life. Even though there are many things I still hope to see and do, my life has been amazing so far.

It’s important to balance your aspirations with gratitude. It’s okay to want more, but never forget the value of what you already have.

Here’s my 30 things to do before 30 bucket list:

1. Buy a house.

I think my dream house is sitting near the edge of a cliff, looking over the beach in Santa Cruz.

2. Fully furnish and decorate my home.

I’ve always wanted to design my house so it feels like a home to me.

3. Run a half-marathon.

Admittedly, I haven’t started training for this yet. I need to develop an affinity for cardio first.

4. Own a successful business.

I’m working on this right now. My biggest struggle is organizing all my ideas into a cohesive, well-structured business plan.

5. Create and sell a series of online courses.

I’m also in the process of creating a course! More details on that are coming soon. 🙂

6. Get another master’s degree.

I say “another master’s degree” because I’m actually almost done with my first. I’m graduating with an M.S. in Mass Communication in just a few months. But I think I want my second master’s degree to be an M.B.A.

7. Learn another language.

I want to become fluent in Spanish! (I took almost four years of Spanish in school, but I forgot all of it.)

8. Read five books each year.

This is a realistic goal, I think. I recently started reading before bed instead of scrolling through my phone. It’s hard for me to find time to read during the day.

9. Improve my photography skills.

I’d love to be able to take fantastic travel photos one day!

10. Learn how to invest in stocks.

This is something I currently know ZERO about, but I want to learn.

11. Create a capsule wardrobe.

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of versatile pieces that you can create a bunch of different outfits with. Because of the versatility, you can save space and downsize your closet if you convert it to a capsule wardrobe.

12. Visit six out of the seven continents.

I hate the cold, so Antarctica can wait.

13. Visit all 50 states in the U.S.

This is ambitious, but not impossible!

14. Buy a designer handbag (or three.)

I have my eye on this YSL bag.

15. Become 100 percent confident in myself.

Improving my self-esteem is an ongoing process. I used to struggle immensely with a lack of confidence in my abilities, and I let it prevent me from doing the things I wanted to do. I don’t let that happen anymore.

16. Become a better person.

I’ve done many things in my life that I’m not proud of. Now, I’m on a continuous self-improvement journey so I can move forward and become my best self.

17. Donate at least $1,000 to a charity I believe in.

My family donates money to charity every year, and I aspire to be like them when I have the means to do so.

18. Share more personal stories online.

I’ve been getting more personal on my blog and social media, especially this year. There are still many topics that I don’t feel comfortable talking about. However, I know I can help more people if I open up, so I’d eventually like to share my whole life story on the Internet. One day!

19. Become more spiritually aware.

I’ve just recently started learning more about spirituality, but I’m working on vibrating higher each day.

20. Publish at least 1,000 blog posts.

Currently, I’m publishing about three blog posts a week. If I keep that up, I can get to 1,000 within the next seven years.

21. Write and publish a book.

I’d love to be a published author. I have a lot to say.

22. Get really long lashes.

I’ve been working on this lately! I used to get eyelash extensions, but they really irritated my eyes. (I think I may be allergic to the glue.) Now, I’ve been using eyelash serums to grow out my natural lashes really long. We’ll see how it goes!

23. Pierce my ears.

If you’ve ever bought me earrings as a gift, I have some bad news for you.

Would you believe I don’t even have my ears pierced? I got my belly button pierced when I was 18, but I had to take it out after a few months because it rejected. As of now, I don’t have any piercings at all.

24. Drink an expensive bottle of champagne.

Because why not?

25. Become an amazing cook.

So I can confidently say “yes” when someone asks me if I know how to cook.

26. Finally get to a point where I can take the weekends off.

Right now, I work for a marketing company Monday through Friday, and I work on my blog and social media content on the weekends.

27. Go on a lavish beach vacation.

Where will it be? Hawaii? Bali? Maldives?

28. Ride in a hot air balloon.

I always see these on TV, and they look so fun! (If you’re afraid of heights, maybe not.)

29. Spend a month traveling through Australia.

I studied abroad in Australia when I was in college. It was an incredible experience, but I wish I would have saved up more money before I went. I didn’t get to explore as much as I wanted to. So, the next time I go to Australia, I want to spend a whole month traveling around so I can experience the entire continent.

30. Spend my 30th birthday in Vegas!

I’ve been to Vegas a few times, but I want to have a full birthday celebration there when I turn 30. I think that’s a great way to kick off another decade of life!

    Hi Samantha,
Was really fun reading your list, in over 30 and I did some of the things you mentioned. Was fun making dreams come true. I think I should make a list for before I get 40.

Oh my gosh – such an ambitious list! I’m 32 – know that your life is just getting started so you have tons of time to do everything on your list.
